Notice of a Public Open House

for a New Official Plan

Council for the Township of Chisholm has initiated a work program to prepare a new Official Plan. An Official Plan is a policy document of Council that establishes policies for the use and management of land in the Township. The current Official Plan for the Township is over 20 years old and a new document needs to be prepared to reflect current Provincial planning requirements, environmental features as well as policies that support future opportunities for economic and residential development in the Municipality.

Interested members of the public are welcome to attend an Open House to review and discuss this important community project. The Open House will be held on Thursday, April 29^th, 2010 - beginning at 2 pm with a second session beginning at 7 pm at the Chisholm United Church, 1469 Chiswick Line, in Chisholm. The Township’s Land Use Planner will attend the Open House and will have mapping available for review. Interested members of the public may also wish to review a Background Report completed for this project which is available for review at the Township office or for download at the bottom of this page.  This is the first open house for the new Official Plan.
