With the passing of By-law No. 2009-35, effective December 1^st, 2009, Chisholm residents now have a bag limiting system.

 All property owners should have by now, received a “Landfill Pass Card” that they have to bring to the landfill site when they bring garbage. Residents have a limit of 104 bags per year, vacant property owners have a limit of 16 bags while commercial and industrial owners have a limit of 260 bags. Should people exceed this limit, they will have to pay.   Residents will also be allowed one free half-ton truck or trailer load of waste each year.

 If you have your garbage picked up by the private contractor, it is your responsibility to provide him with your Pass Card and he will look after it for you. He will also provide the landfill attendant with a list of his customers’ names so they can take advantage of the free load per year.
