Things To Do

Spring – Summer – Fall – Winter.  It doesn’t matter when you want something to do; you will find a large variety of interesting things around Chisholm Township.  We’ve included several on this web site for you.

 

Chisholm Township has an ATV By-law that allows ATV’s to be driven on township roadways, however, speed limits are as follows:

Where road speed limits are posted as 50 km/hr, the ATV speed limit is not to exceed 20 km/hr.  If the road speed limit is posted higher than 50 km/hr, the ATV speed limit is not to exceed 50 km/hr.

The Township offers a summer beach program for children ages 6-12.  Your children will take part in swimming lessons, arts, crafts and games – all provided by qualified lifeguards.

Clear Springs Golf Course is an excellent Par 4, 18-hole golf course located in Chisholm Township. (705)724-5735

There are many more excellent golf courses located in the surrounding communities:  Powassan, Sundridge, South River and North Bay.

Equestrian Facilities

There are two equestrian facilities located in Chisholm Township:

Hiden Meadow Stables  - Operated by Garry and Jo-Ann Bumstead, 578 Alderdale Road, Astorville, ON  (705)724-6041.  Offers boarding, training and lessons.

East Wood – Operated by Norm and Shelly Ellis, 1604 Memorial Park Drive, Powassan, ON  (705) 724-1579.  Offers boarding, training, lessons and summer camp.

 

Chisholm is a full partner in the library in Powassan and membership is free to Township residents.  Some residents may find the library in Astorville more convenient.  They will however have to pay a small annual fee.

There is a free tennis court located at 51 Bell Cairn Road, just off Chiswick Line, in the Township.  Chisholm has a tennis club and players can participate in various tournaments in the summer.  Beginners are always welcome!  Please contact the Township Office for more details.

 

A variety of annual community events take place in the Township of Chisholm every year such as; a Car Wash and Bake Sale, a Community Wide Yard Sale, a Craft Sale.  Watch for dates and details in the monthly Newsletter and the local newspaper.
