Whether you are taking up residence in the Township or just paying us a visit, you are most welcome. We are confident that you will find Chisholm a nice place to be. We have forests, gently rolling countryside, and lakes and rivers. There is so much to enjoy in the way of outdoor activities and sports, and the City of North Bay with its theatres, art galleries and special events is only a thirty minute drive away.

As North Bay is well connected to major cities using Highways 11 and 17, and with buses, flights and trains, Chisholm is readily accessible, but at the same time it enjoys a measure of seclusion.

New Proposed OPP Billing Model
Chisholm Township needs your help! The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is proposing to significantly change the way in which it bills for policing services in communities served by the OPP. Currently, the OPP bill is based on a deployment model that reflects a municipality’s actual crime rate. This is a user pay system that we believe is fair. The proposed billing model will triple Chisholm’s police costs from $73,219 to $221,769. This would require a 10% tax increase or significant reductions in municipal services to cover the higher police costs which are proposed to go into effect January 2015. Please find below a draft letter for your consideration to submit by May 15th, 2014 to the Premier and the Minister of MCSCS with a cc to the MPP in the riding in which you vote provincially.  This can be emailed and please also send a copy to the Township at info@chisholm.ca.
