Chisholm Township passed a By-law in 2015 to permit the operation of off-road vehicles on roads in the municipality, however the following speed limits still apply.

Where road speed limits are posted as 50 km/hr, the ATV speed limit is not to exceed 20 km/hr.  If the road speed limit is posted higher than 50 km/hr, the ATV speed limit is not to exceed 50 km/hr.

Read the ATV By-law.

A variety of annual community events take place in the Township of Chisholm every year such as a car wash and bake sale, a community wide yard sale, and a horseshoe tournament.

The Chisholm Branch of the Women’s Institute has been in place since November of 1926 and is still active today. Women’s Institute, in its beginning, was an organization to help country women learn the basics of homemaking and all that it entails in a rural situation, but as is true of many other organizations the horizons have been widened, and now the Women’s Institute is a community-based organization seeking to enhance that community through service and education.

All women are welcome to join Women’s Institution and the yearly membership fee of $20.00 also includes the quarterly “Home and Country Magazine”.  The meetings take place the second Wednesday of every month (except January and July) at the Chisholm United Church at 7:00 p.m.  New members and guests are always welcome!

Bell Cairn Playground

This park has something for everyone and is located at 51 Bell Cairn Road (next to the tennis courts).   It has new playground structures for the older kids, and toddler structures, accessible swings, and adult fitness equipment.

Jubilee Park

This park is located at the corner of Alderdale Road and Memorial Park Drive, and has accessible picnic tables and beautiful large trees, the ideal spot for a picnic.
